Aida is kicking off its 2006-'07 national tour with a week at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville, AR. The cast, starring Marja Harmon in the title role, plans to hit 38 locales, including Fayetteville.

It's the story of an Ethiopian princess and an Egyptian princess who both fall for the same man. It won Grammy awards for the musical score by Sirs Elton and Tim Rice.
Aida, which had a four and half year run on Broadway, was the first collaboration between Elton and Tim since The Lion King. The opera, which was written by Giuseppe Verdi was first staged in 1871. Tickets for the current version are $38 - $46 by calling 479-443-5600.
