''Alaskans just can't get enough of Elton John,'' the Chronicle has observed.
His May 28 concert at the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage sold out in 58 minutes last week, prompting the addition of a second appearance two days later.
That one sold out in about an hour Monday.
Concert promoters say there hasn't been this much excitement over a singer's visit to Alaska in a long time.
The entertainer has never been to Alaska before, but is coming later this month on a quest to hold concerts in every state.
He will perform in Fairbanks on May 29, between the two Anchorage dates.
