Some time ago, EJW reported that the Drifters decided to cover one of the Rocket Man's classics.

The new version of Sacrifice is a benefit single, with proceeds going to HIV/AIDS charity Mildmay.

Fi McLachlan, CEO at Mildmay, says: Everyone at Mildmay is really excited about the new Drifters single, Sacrifice. It is an honour to be working with the Drifters, knowing that sales of the single will boost our care and treatment programmes, helping to rehabilitate patients suffering the effects of brain impairment as a result of HIV and making a difference in the lives of people living with HIV."

Steve V King, from the band, says: The Drifters are very happy to support this project to ensure that this effective treatment at the hospital is secured for many years to come. We hope that, through the Sacrifice single, we can really make a difference to people here in the UK who are suffering from this dreadful disease.
