Last year, Elton fans around the world hosted their own events surrounding Elton's birthday on March 25, 2002, to raise much-needed funds for charity Elton John Aids Foundation.
Thousands of dollars were raised.
Eltonjohnworld.com Citizen Patti Perrin from Mexico already informed us of the following event in Mexico City with the support (as last year) of the Mexican University (Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Estado de México):
The theatre company of the University will perform a show based in Madonna's songs called "MUSIC" and all the proceeds will be divided between different charities (one of them the Elton John AIDS Foundation, of course).
Tickets will cost 100 Mexican pesos (around 10 US dollars) and the event will take place on Saturday March 22, 2003 at 8:00 p.m. (Mexico time).
Patti says they are also going to raffle 3 Double CDs of Elton's latest production Greatest Hits 1970-2002.
The theater adress is: K.M. 3.5 Carretera Lago de Guadalupe, Atizapán de Zaragoza, Estado de México, MEXICO.
Besides the event, Patti says they are organising what was called "The 25 Dollars Campaign". They include written information about the EJAF that are sent to members of the audience in the different cultural activities of the University and motivate them to donate 25 dollars -or more- directly to
the EJAF website:
This campaign was created by Patti's own fansite (and with the help of another huge fan of Elton's from Mexico: Nadya Muciño). The URL of Patti's fansite is:
