Help Watford win back its biggest trophy - the hallowed turf of Vicarage Road Stadium.
Eltonjohnworld has teamed up with Watford Football Club, whose Life President is Sir Elton John, in a campaign to help raise funds to buy back the Vicarage Road stadium's freehold land.
Watford launched the campaign in 2002 and there are still chances for you to help.
The Let's Buy Back the Vic is a fundraiser where you can immortalise your fandom for the club by buying a souvenir brick, engraved with your name, which is then sunk into the foundations of the Watford-based stadium.
The bricks have a 10-year life guarantee.
On April 24, 2004, our editor George Matlock met Ray Lewington, Watford manager, to "cut the deal" at Vicarage Road as a perfectly cut brick was handed by Ray to George.
George duly presented a cheque for the sum of £50.00 to mark eltonjohnworld's donation to the worthy cause. Funds were actually realised from George's personal resources and not from the online fan club's accounts.
Watford informed eltonjohnworld that the brick was expected to be "built" into the stadium in time for Watford's home match against Reading on May 9, 2004, and furnish the Rous stand - aptly near to the Sir Elton John Suite.
Watford play their last match of the season on May 9, and while hoping to spoil the party for Reading, Watford are no longer at threat of relegation. Watford will be playing in Division One next season - whatever the result of the weekend match.
All the funds go to the Let’s Buy Back the Vic fund. The bricks cost £39.99 each. To buy a brick you can call the Watford FC Sales Office on 01923 496010.
