As announced previously, Bauer Media UK is joining forces with one of the world’s top entertainers.
Songs from Elton's recent show at the First Direct Arena in Leeds can be heard in a special programme on Monday, the 16th of September.
Elton John: Home Again on Magic will see stations across Bauer Media’s Magic Network North provide a devoted two-hour special to mark the release of Elton’s new album and open the doors for listeners to experience his only indoor UK show of 2013. Hosted by Magic Radio’s evening show presenter, Ray Rose, the programme will feature classics as well as the new single, Home Again, and live tracks exclusively recorded from the Leeds performance.
In late August, Magic Radio had a week of ticket giveaways: Every time one of Elton's songs was played, a randomly selected caller won tickets to the Leeds concert.
As for this Monday, in addition to Magic’s special programme, they will also kick off a week long giveaway of Elton’s new disc, The Diving Board.
Owen Ryan, Group Programming Director, Bauer Media Place Portfolio, commented: “Elton John is one of the biggest artists in the world, having sold more than 250 million records over his five-decade career, so we are delighted to offer our listeners the chance to get closer to the star with an exciting programme featuring exclusive, live content. At Bauer Media, we are committed to providing quality music experiences for our local listeners and this event shows our ability and drive to deliver the most exciting content from the best artists.”
Ben Martin, Head of Marketing, Marshall Arts Ltd., said: “As one of our core media partners, we wanted to offer Magic Network North something very special to help strengthen the message of Elton’s first performance in Leeds for nearly 30 years. Magic embraced the idea and built an entire month long promotion around the broadcast on September 16th which will tie in with the release of his new album.”
Elton John: Home Again on Magic will be supported by a full multiplatform promotional campaign, in addition to promotional activity in the run up to and at the concert itself. Steve Phillips, presenter of Mellow Magic, will be playing a selection of Elton’s hits and encouraging people to tune in on September 16.
