A True Starry Starry Benefit Last Night

Last night's Starry Starry Night charity event lived up to its name with a guestlist that included Noel Gallagher, David Furnish and Gillian Anderson, and performers like Elton and Russell Brand.

Nick Grimshaw hosted the evening at London's Cafe de Paris, which raised £360,000 for the Hoping Foundation, a charity for Palestinian children set up by Bella Freud and Karma Nabulsi.

The Evening Standard reports that Elton had the audience on their feet as he performed Tiny Dancer. He also sang a rendition of  Unchained Melody, accompanied by Jools Holland on piano after one reveller bid £80,000 to see the duet.

Brand, who arrived with girlfriend Jemima Khan, gave a stand-up routine, while his friend Gallagher dedicated Don’t Look Back In Anger to the comedian’s Hollywood career.
