John And Taupin Salutes Make The Charts

Written by Chief Editor.

The pop- and rock-leaning Revamp, which sees artists like Pink and Ed Sheeran covering Elton and Bernie Taupin's songs,  bows at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 (25,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending April 12, according to Nielsen Music).

Meanwhile, the country-flavoured Restoration--with names like Little Big Town and Chris Stapleton-- debuts at No. 36 (15,000 units).

Revamp and Restoration also arrive at Nos. 2 and 4 on the Top Rock Albums and Top Country Albums charts, respectively.

The two sets follow another tribute album, Two Rooms, which arrived in 1991 and climbed to No. 18 the following year. This has sold a total of 1.4 million copies.
