Remembering Tab Hunter

Written by Chief Editor.

Tab Hunter died on Sunday from a blood clot. He was 86.

After decades of silence, the entertainer confirmed long-standing rumours about his homosexuality in his autobiography Tab Hunter Confidential: The Making of a Movie Star, published in 2005.

The actor and singer said he had been told by Allan Glaser, his romantic partner of more than three decades, that someone was planning to write a book about him. "I thought, 'Look, get it from the horse's mouth and not from some horse's ass after I'm dead and gone,'" he said in 2015. "I didn't want someone putting a spin on my life."

Elton wrote on Instagram: “RIP to the most handsome and special man. ‘Young Love’ forever.

Others speaking out about Hunter's passing included Belinda Carlisle, who wrote that he was ''a wonderful human being full of so much grace,'' and Harvey Fierstein, who recalled sharing laughs with him back in the eighties, and always being ''fond of this dear man.''
