EJ Band Has Played First Show of Final Tour

Written by Chief Editor.

On September 8, Elton and his band kicked off their Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour in Allentown, Pa.

There were 10,000 in atendance: a record-fast sellout for the PPL Center.

While the set list was full of old songs like I Guess That's Why They Call it The Blues; Bennie and the Jets; Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding; Someone Saved My Life Tonight; Tiny Dancer; and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (his second encore and final performance of the night), there were a number of new videos to accompany the classics.

There were two dedications as well. Border Song was for Aretha Franklin, who covered the tune early on. And Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me was dedicated to Mac Miller, a 26-year-old rapper who recently died of an apparent drug overdose.
