Written by Chief Editor.

On his Instagram page, Elton is paying homage to Charles Aznavour, who has passed away at the age of 94.

The former Reg Dwight wrote: ''A truly great artist and a brilliantly beautiful voice. It was an honour singing with you.''

The singer and songwriter, whose career spanned more than eight decades, was called ''France's Frank Sinatra.''

Charles and Elton teamed up for Yesterday When I Was Young a decade ago, but the former is probably best known for his 1974 hit She and 1964's Hier Encore.
Aznavour owned La Boheme restaurant in Aix-en-Provence, southeastern France. He also published two volumes of memoirs — Aznavour by Aznavour in 1973 and Le Temps des Avants (The Times Before) in 2003.
For his 80th birthday, Aznavour sang at the renowned Palais des Congres in Paris and then went on a tour of France and Belgium. He celebrated his 90th birthday with a concert in Berlin. Last year, he was added to Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

Born in Paris to Armenian parents, the entertainer always remembered his Armenian roots. A vigil was held Monday night in Yerevan and attended by the country's prime minister

Married three times, Aznavour had six children. He is survived by his wife of more than four decades, Ulla.
