Forbes' List of Highest Paid Musicians is Out

Written by Chief Editor.

U2 has topped Forbes' tally of highest paid musicians in 2018, thanks in part to their Joshua Tree world tour celebrating their classic 1987 album.

They earned $118 million, followed by Coldplay ($115.5 million), Ed Sheeran ($110 million), Bruno Mars ($100 million) and Katy Perry ($83 million.)

Elton was in 25th place, tied with Metallica. They each grossed $46 million.

The listing is based on an artist’s pretax earnings from June 1, 2017 through June 1, 2018.  Factors determining each performer’s earnings include music sales/streaming revenue and touring revenue.
