Promoter Donates Chaps, Signed by Elton, For Charity Auction

Written by Chief Editor.

In 1970, Elton autographed a pair of worn chaps for legendary music promoter Larry Magid, also known as co-founder of Philadelphia's Electric Factory.

During one of his first trips to America, Elton did 4 shows in 2 days at the Electric Factory on November 6 & 7, 1970. The pop maestro signed the green chaps for Larry after one of those performances.

With over 16,000 concerts to his credit and still counting, Larry has produced national and international tours for Yes; Richard Pryor; Bette Midler; Stevie Wonder; Robin Williams; Earth Wind & Fire; Il Divo, the Allman Brothers Band; Patti LaBelle, and many others. In 1985, Magid co-produced the American portion of Live Aid and in 2005 he was the producer of Live 8.

The promoter is proud to donate the chaps from his personal collection to a charity for cancer research, the Kristen Ann Carr Fund. Bids will be accepted by Charitybuzz.com through the 22nd of May.
