Taupin Admits to Having Doubts About ''Don't Go Breaking My Heart''

Written by Chief Editor.

Even though he's been a part of a hugely successful songwriting team for half a century, Bernie Taupin says he still doesn't know a hit when he has one.

The lyricist cited Don't Go Breaking My Heart, the Elton/Kiki Dee duet released in 1976.

He told the New York Post: ''I hated it, and it was the biggest single we had in Europe.''

He added: ''I just did not like it. But Elton always ignores me when I say I don't like a song. He always know better than me.''
