Remembering a Performer Who Was Once With The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band

Written by Chief Editor.

An English writer, singer and comedian has died at the age of 75.

Neil Innes was best known for his time with the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band (whose drummer ''Legs'' Larry Smith once toured with Elton); Beatles parody band The Rutles and working with Monty Python.

Innes toured the UK in 2006 and produced a new Bonzo CD as part of the Bonzo Dog Band's 40th Anniversary tour

A spokesman for his family said he had not had an illness, and had passed away unexpectedly last night.

He and Nick Turner were most recently working on a documentary called Sound Techniques: The Parts You Don't Hear.

In fact, Neil spoke with this site's Cheryl's Specials last year: Click on the item from October 9, 2018 to read.
