Elizabeth Taylor's family has announced its first ever Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation gala in Los Angeles.
It will be held on April 30th, in the backlot at 20th Century Fox, where the late actress made Cleopatra and other movies.
The Host Committee includes Sir Elton and David Furnish; President Bill Clinton; Colin Farrell; Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson; Kathy Ireland; Earvin “Magic” and Cookie Johnson; Sharon Stone, and Whoopi Goldberg.
Presenting sponsor Gilead Sciences will be honoured with the inaugural Elizabeth Taylor Commitment to End AIDS Award for the company’s work in research and treatment development for people with HIV or at risk for HIV.
The seated dinner for 350 guests will include a live auction, musical performance and dancing. Items highlighting Taylor’s personal life, career and humanitarian work from the Elizabeth Taylor Archive will also be on display.
