Late Photographer's Admirers Included John And Jagger

A wildlife photographer whose collectors included Sir Elton, was found dead yesterday in the woods near his home in Montauk, New York. 

 
Peter Beard had been missing since March 31st and had suffered from dementia.
 
He was 82, and known for his close ties to Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Francis Bacon, and Salvador Dali. Another pal was Mick Jagger who remembered him ' as 'a visionary who wasn't afraid to take risks.''
 
Beard also went on fashion shoots. He is credited with discovering the supermodel Iman.
 
He is survived by his wife Nejma, also his agent, and their daughter Zara, a granddaughter, and two brothers.
