Elton has told Watford FC that he ''couldn't be more proud'' of the club for turning its stadium into a sanctuary for NHS staff at Watford General Hospital.
Hornets chairman Scott Duxbury says he's been in touch with the famous lifelong Watford FC fan, as the club opened its doors to help staff at the hospital next door.
Space at Vicarage Road has been set aside for training and counselling--as well as bedrooms. The club has also laundered more than 10,000 pairs of scrobs for jhospital staff. Even the suite named for the Hornets' honorary life president is being used as an area for meetings and training.
Duxbury says Elton has been moved by what they are doing to assist NHS staff during the COVID-19 crisis--and that former chairman Graham Taylor, who died in 2017, would be proud.
