West End stars, backed by an eight-piece West End band, had planned to come together in Kent to perform Elton's music on Saturday, the 8th of August.
It was to be put on by the production company responsible for last summer's successful An Evening of Queen.
Unfortunately, the event, which was to take place at the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury, has been scrapped because of COVID-19.
Kent Cricket's CEO, Simon Storey, released the following statement. . .
''We were looking forward to welcoming Elton John fans to the Spitfire Ground, St Laurence, for a fantastic evening of entertainment. However, the safety of our staff, performers and visitors is our priority.
''We will continue to work hard to ensure we are able to bring you an exciting schedule of events next summer. We would like to thank you for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.''
The club will be in contact with all ticket purchasers directly by Friday, July 10, with details on obtaining a refund.
