EJAF Oscar Bash And ''Lion King'' Impacted by Coronavirus

Written by Chief Editor.

Broadway venues have been shuttered since mid-March as New York went into lockdown to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Although there's been an easing of restrictions, The Lion King and other productions won't reopen before January.
Meanwhile on the West Coast, the 2021 Oscars have been delayed. Instead of taking place on February 28th, the ceremony is to be held on the 25th of April--so the Elton John AIDS Foundation's Academy Awards Viewing Party has also been postponed.
Organisers of the Oscars have also agreed to extend the eligibility window beyond December 31, 2020 to the end of February,
The pandemic has already halted work on a number of films which were to be released by the end of the year.
