Item Once Owned by Rock Star Included in ''Hollywood: Legends And Explorers''

Written by Chief Editor.

On the 17th and 18th of July, starting at 10 a.m. PDT, Julien's Auctions will hold its Hollywood: Legends And Explorers sale in Beverly Hills and online.

Lot 14 (to be offered on the 17th, starting at 10 a.m. PDT, in Session 1) was once owned by Elton. It's a swimsuit costume designed for Marilyn Monroe to wear in There's No Business Like Show Business. Although it's similar to others the actress wore throughout the film, it is not seen in the final cut.

It's been around the (auction) block a few times. It was donated by the former Reg Dwight to a charity auction in 1990; then sold at Christie's ''Pop'' auction in South Kensington the following year to avid Monroe collector David Gainsborough-Roberts. Then in 2016, a year before he died, David sold this at a Julien's auction titled Property From The Collection of David Gainsborough-Roberts.

The auction house estimate is $8,000-$10,000.
