Yesterday Ringo Starr turned 80, prompting many of his famous admirers to send messages via social media.
Elton posted an older photo of himself with the drummer on Instagram. This was accompanied by a note from Elton and David Furnish wishing him a happy birthday and calling him ''one of the world's kindest people'' who is ''an inspiration to us both.''
Paul McCartney wrote for his ''long-time buddy'' to ''have a great day,'' while Yoko Ono posted: ''Happy, Happy Birthday Ringo! Lots of peace and love, Yoko.''
Peter Frampton posted as well--a new video of him playing Starr's 1971 hit, It Don't Come Easy. He also wrote: ''I can't thank you enough for all the times we've played, hung together and for being there for being over the last ? years. Lifelong friends are few and far between. I am so lucky to have you as one of mine.''
