Starting today, Facebook is taking aim at YouTube by bringing officially licensed music videos to its platform.
The content will appear on a new music section in Facebook Watch, organised by genre, artist and mood, and will be available on the site's artist pages.
Facebook is teaming up with Universal and Warner music groups. among others, and will offer content from Elton; Blake Shelton; Bob Marley; the Jonas Brothers; and Nicki Minaj, to name a few. There are also plans to offer exclusives and premieres from acts such as Lele Pons and J. Balvin.
The social media giant has already been working with partners in India and Thailand on a similar music experience.
