News About Two Books With an Elton John Connection

Written by Chief Editor.

Throughout the music industry, Tana Douglas is acknowledged as rock and roll's first female roadie. She has also worked in backline, sound, lights, logistics, production, and tour management, and Elton was among the artists she assisted.

Tana has completed her memoirs and told EJW there are three chapters in Loud about the time she spent with the pop vocalist.

''This was over a four year period. The launch date for Loud in Australia is February 3 (and e-book worldwide).''

Another woman with an autobiography coming next year is Brandi Carlile. The 39-year-old's book will include her collaborations with everyone from Elton to Tanya Tucker.

Her publisher calls Broken Horses an ''evocative and piercingly honest'' journey through the life that has shaped her ''very raw art.''

{Elton played piano on Caroline, which was on his friend's third studio album, Give Up The Ghost. Brandi has said they both felt like Caroline had the same funky piano vibe that he had all the way through Tumbleweed Connection.}
