The Latest on The EJAF's Covid Emergency Fund And Upcoming Benefit

Written by Chief Editor.

In April 2020, the Elton John AIDS Foundation launched their Covid-19 Emergency Fund.

With the world facing unprecedented times, Elton felt it was necessary to protect the progress being made to end AIDS, and the people most vulnerable.

A statement on the organisation's Facebook page says: ''Since then, over 100 grants have been distributed in over 30 countries, and we have been so impressed and inspired by the innovative solutions our grantees have delivered for their communities across the globe. So today we would like to say a huge thanks to every single person who has stood up and supported their communities through this time of crisis.''

On the 25th of April, their first ever virtual Academy Awards Pre-Party will be held. This year's gala will raise funds for the 1,600 young people who are estimated to contract HIV each day. Up to 400,000 donors will be able to attend via Webex.
