Ben Babylon, the son of Elton’s late keyboardist, Guy Babylon, will be appearing with his group at the ShredFest 4 for Kids’ Cancer Battle of the Bands.
Other acts, as well as celebrity judges, are expected to take part on April 7 from noon to 3 p.m., at the House of Blues, located at 8430 Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, CA.
Prior to this, on March 9, the Ben Babylon Band will be playing the Band Jam at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center in Moorpark, California. The set will feature new songs.
Tickets are $5 at the door. The event is scheduled from 7-9 p.m., with Ben taking the stage at 8 p.m.
In addition, Ben’s Facebook page recommends checking out a site where fans can connect with some of their favourite artists. This includes Elton’s longtime guitarist, Davey Johnstone, who, when asked which studio he has preferred, replies, ”The best 2 studios for our particular method of working were Chateau DHerouville near Paris, and Caribou Ranch, Colorado.also Air Studios in Montserrat which was wiped out in a cyclone, I believe.
”We liked the residential vibe of these studios, because everyones in the same place, eating together etc. and working more or less when we felt like it. We also recorded a lot at Trident Studios and the Townhouse, both in London. There used to be so many great studios.”
