Foundations‘ research into blood related cancers. Four hundred thousand of this came from a spontaneous auction offering from Elton and his partner: Two couples won the bid, which entitles them to a week’s stay at the pair’s Windsor estate. Also included in the package are a chauffeur, Michelin-starred chef and one of the Rocket Man’s jackets worn in concert.
Krall, who comes from Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, started the benefit shows in 1998 after her mother was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a progressive blood disease, in 1996 and later died in 2002. The event had a guest list of 550 people who paid between $800 and $2,500-Cdn ($700-2,200) per ticket to attend and watch all five entertainers.
