Pop pioneers Naked Eyes will release an all-new acoustic covers CD entitled Fumbling With The Covers on Oglio Records, distributed through Fontana/Universal. The ten-song collection includes songs originally recorded by Elton, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and Cat Stevens, along with versions of three Naked Eyes top ten hits.
The disc is due on Tuesday, July 31st.
When singer/guitarist Pete Byrne‘s band mate Rob Fisher passed away as the band was about to reform, Byrne decided that the best course of action was to start the new project where it had begun all those years ago back in Bath, England.
“I had the title and I went looking for the songs that inspired me to be in a band in the first place,” he recalls.
Byrne explains: “I wanted to record songs from some of my favourite artists, but not the hits everyone knowsI looked for those songs that seemed to go a bit deeper.”
However, with Elton, he selected a hit most fans are familiar with . . . Rocket Man.
