On Friday night, Elton began his U.S. tour at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT.

He hadn’t played the arena since 2004. Fans obviously missed him, since the venue sold out in just 17 minutes.

The set list included three songs from the new Diving Board album: Voyeur, Oceans Away, and Home Again. Among other selections were Philadelphia Freedom, Bennie and the Jets, Believe, and The One.

Besides being impressed with Elton and the band, many were struck by what appeared to be a chandelier, which was actually the singer’s lighting system, ”transforming the night into various colours,” according to one concertgoer.
