The International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care (IAPAC) today announced the slate of individuals and organizations to which it will pay tribute at Honoring our Heroes 2003.

With honorees including well-known AIDS advocate Sir Elton John, and Stephen Lewis, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa, this sixth annual event promises to live up to the standard set by previous Honoring our Heroes ceremonies, which have honored such individuals as former President Bill Clinton and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Individuals receiving awards at Honoring our Heroes 2003, is scheduled for September 15 in Chicago?

Elton John is slated to receive the 2003 Dag Hammarskjold Award, which went to Clinton and Tutu in previous years.

Formal letters of congratulations have been sent to all honorees, but, in some cases, attendance at the September ceremony is not yet confirmed.
