According to the blog of Jonathan Freeman-Attwood, the principal of the Royal Academyof Music, Elton will be providing the institution’s Dukes Hall with a brand new Swiss-made organ, financed from the proceeds of concerts in the Royal AlbertHall and the Royal Opera House, as well as a personal donation from his foundation, raising in excess of £1million.
Jonathan also says:
”Eltons personal involvement, generosity and encouragement over the past few years have been inspirational and extraordinary.
”This will be one of the finest instruments of its kind in a conservatoire. Installation will begin in June 2013 and will be completed by mid-September. The inauguration will take place within the following months.”
