Annette McLaughlin and Martin Walsh will star in the touring production of Billy Elliot next year.

McLaughlin will play ‘Mrs Wilkinson’ and Walsh will play ‘Dad’ in the UK tour of the musical, which begins at Theatre Royal Plymouth on February 26.

The pair will be joined by Scott Garnham as ‘Tony’ and Andrea Miller as ‘Grandma,’ while casting for the child roles in the show will be announced in early 2016.

The tour runs throughout 2016 and 2017, visiting venues including Wales Millennium Centre, Edinburgh Playhouse, Manchester’s Palace Theatre and Birmingham Hippodrome.

As previously reported, the West End production of Billy Elliot, which has been running since 2004, will close at the Victoria Palace Theatre in April 2016.
