At 1:45 p.m. Thursday, September 1, Terry Fox Day will be held in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
The event is expected to draw dignitaries and Cancer Institute members, and will feature Never Give Up on A Dream, a song written by Rod Stewart, Bernie Taupin and his Farm Dogs cohort, Jim Cregan.
It will be held at the Terry Fox Lookout, to remember a young Canadian who died of cancer. In spite of having a leg amputated, Terry trained for a 6,000-mile Marathon of Hope to help fight the disease.
Sadly, he suffered a relapse, and couldn’t complete his mission.
Terry passed away in 1981. Since then, runs have been held around the world, raising over three hundred million dollars.
