Tomorrow the Ritz Acoustic Club plays host to south west singer-songwriter Diana Johnstone.

Born in Plymouth, Diana started playing at Mitchell’s famous Folk Cottage in her teens, playing alongside the likes of Ralph McTell, Mike Silver and Clive Palmer of The Incredible String Band.

Her solo career however, was put on hold when she met and married Davey Johnstone who played guitar for Elton John at the peak of his ’70s success, the couple travelling the world and meeting such celebrities as Groucho Marx, Stevie Wonder and John Lennon.

Now Diana, having had a track featured on Willy Russell’s Daughters Of Albion TV show, is re-launching her career with the EP Learning To Walk.

Doors open at 8pm, and tickets are £3 for members, £3.50 for non-members, include a buffet, and are available from GC Music on 01278 794434 or on the door.

Incidentally, her former spouse can be heard tonight on the syndicated radio programme.
