Casting has been announced for the European premiere of Disney’s Broadway Hits at the Royal Albert Hall next month.

John Barrowman is to be the performing emcee. He will be joined by Scarlett Strallen (A Chorus Line); Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins on Broadway); and Merle Dandridge (Aida and Tarzan on Broadway).

The show, which celebrates over two decades of Disney productions, also fetes composers and lyricists such as Elton, Tim Rice, Phil Collins, and Richard and Robert Sherman.

The event sold out in minutes when it went on sale in July, but further allocation has now been released.

Others participating in the one off event include Alton Fitzgerald White (from  Broadway’s The Lion King), Alan Menken,  and Josh Strickland (Tarzan). Music will come from the BBC Concert Orchestra, under the baton of Keith Lockhart.

”Disney’s Broadway Hits” comes to Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, the 23rd of October. It begins at 7 p.m.

Incidentally, another programme of Broadway favourites will be performed at the Hall a bit earlier, on October 18. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will headline Broadway Hits, which will include selections from the likes of Chicago, Cabaret, Wicked, Mamma Mia!, and Elton and Lee Hall’s Billy Elliot. This is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
