Since opening at the Victoria Palace last May, Billy Elliot has been voted Best Musical at the Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards, Theatregoers’ Choice Awards and Evening Standard Awards.

On February 26, at London’s Park Lane Hilton, it won that honour, and more. Paul Arditti‘s sound design and Peter Darling‘s choreography were singled out, as were James Lomas, George Maguire and Liam Mower.

The three boys won Best Actor in a Musical, becoming the first to receive a Lawrence Olivier Award in a shared capacity–and the youngest. However, only 13-year-old Liam is still in the show. James and George, who are both 15, were forced to bow out due to a problem with breaking voices.
