Miley Cyrus has been causing controversy lately with her highly suggestive performance at the MTV VMAs and with a new video in which she bares all.
Elton has spoken out about the 20-year-old. He believes she will eventually crash and burn out.
“I look at Miley Cyrus and I see a meltdown waiting to happen,” Elton told The Australian.
“And she’s so young! But she’s got two records in the top 20, so who is going to stop her? Maybe it’s a British thing, but I can spot a car crash before it happens.”
Elton, who has more than five decades experience in the business, reveals he can sense when an artist will hit a brick wall in their career, citing Michael Jackson as a prime example of a musician becoming a victim of the industry. The songwriter says that when an announcement was made about Michael playing 50 shows at the O2, he knew the dates would never happen because the younger singer was ”too messed up.”
