The Bates advertising agency has lost its account with Royal Mail, worth more than £20m.  Royal Mail has dropped Bates in a move to reduce its advertising spending.

Bates provided Royal Mail with consumer-focused advertising for the past eight years, making the recent adverts starring Elton that joked about his extravagant shopping habits.

In the end, it was the Royal Mail’s spending habits that have been curbed.
