Elton has questioned quite a few notables for Interview magazine. But in the December/January 2005 issue, the tables are turned.

Robert Downey Jr. interviews the entertainer, who speaks  a bit about his Las Vegas performances. He tries to arrive about 2-1/2 hours early to watch TV, take a nap or get a massage.

Elton also discusses producing Peachtree Road, which he compares to someone directing their first movie. ”You’re really conscious that it’s your first time and that you must get everything right.”

But all went well, thanks in part to Pat Leonard, who produced Songs From The West Coast. He got the pianist to concentrate on being himself and using a simpler lineup. The new album was similar to making Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, where the band went ahead and played instead of ”waiting around all day for people to do their individual bits.”
