The listing is based on data provided to the trade publication Pollstar by concert promoters and venue managers.

Meanwhile, Britain’s Sunday Times has announced its list of richest music millionaires, and ranks Clive Calder, who founded the Zomba Group of record labels and companies and is worth £1.35billion, in first place.

Second is theatre producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh, with a fortune of £725million, up from £675million last year.

His long-time collaborator, Lord Lloyd Webber, is fourth with £590million, a £90million drop from last year.

Victoria Beckham moved into the top ten, thanks to a £25million increase in her and husband Davids wealth in the past year.

It gives them a wealth of £190million, putting them in joint tenth place with Mick Jagger and Daniel Ek of the online music service Spotify.

Others in the Top Ten include U2 (fifth, £514million);  Simon Fuller (sixth, £375million); and the Rocket Man, who is in 8th place, with 220 million pounds).
