Lion King song gets a teen revival

A crop of teen artists have recorded Disney classics for a new compilation, Disneymania 2. Due in the shops on January 27, 2004, from Walt Disney Records, Disneymania 2 boasts appearances by such teen pop favorites as Hilary Duff, Raven, the Baha Men and the Beu Sisters.

But the centerpiece of the collection is a version of The Lion King song Circle of Life by the Disney Channel’s Circle of Stars.

The one-off collaboration by Circle of Stars features such network names as Duff (“Lizzie McGuire”), Raven (“That’s So Raven”), Christy Carlson Romano (“Kim Possible,” “Even Stevens”), Anneliese van der Pol (“That’s So Raven”), Orlando Brown (“The Proud Family”), Tahj Mowry (“Kim Possible,” “Smart Guy”), Kyla Pratt (“The Proud Family”) and A.J. Trauth (“Even Stevens”). Elton John’s original recording reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart in 1994.
