Next summer, Elton will do a one-off fund-raising concert at Vicarage Road to help Watford buy back their stadium, reported the Guardian on June 30, 2004.
While an entertainment license has yet to be granted, the gig is set for June 18, 2005, a Saturday.
The club needs to raise up to 6 million pounds. They have already raised a good portion from supporters like Elton, who got them 120,000 pounds for his recent Sky commercial.
The singer has been a fan since he was a boy. In 1984, he was photographed crying, when the team lost the 1984 FA Cup Final to Everton at Wembley.
