Eltonjohnworld.com has been hearing from fans who were disappointed when they were unable to purchase tickets to the pop icon’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road concerts. The tickets went too fast, and a number of these have been rather costly.
The Kansas City Star has heard similar complaints. Tickets for the musician’s show, at Sprint Center on Feb. 13, 2019, went on sale on Friday, and were gone quickly — at least those sold at regular prices.
”If you wanted to throw down some big bucks, plenty of VIP tickets were available,” the article noted.
Not long after the sell-out, the Sprint Center Web site responded to a request for ‘one ticket, any price’ with: “There are no tickets available that meet your request. Please select a different quantity or choose another price range.” Regular ticket prices were $49.50, $124.50 and $224.50; there was an eight-ticket limit per person.
However at noon Friday, plenty of VIP ticket packages were available, for $1,175 each.
The VIP packages do not feature a meet-and-greet. They do include a champagne toast and welcome gift plus a tour lithograph, a backstage tour, preferred parking and separate VIP entrance.
Meanwhile, Elton has been adding more U.S. dates. These include two concerts at the L.A. Forum on February 1 and 2, in 2019. They go on sale soon, on Feb. 12. On the 16th of the month, tickets for the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, will be available. These shows take place on Feb. 15 and 16, 2019. Also on the 16th (of 2018), tickets will be sold for a number of other gigs. They include Minneapolis, Minnesota; Newark, New Jersey; and Brooklyn, New York.
