Charity Event to Include Musical Salutes

Monday 23
January 2006 @ 16:55
– GMT

According to the January 20, 2006 Courier, on Saturday, January 28, there will be a benefit for the Ottumwa Regional Health Foundation‘s cancer centre.

It will be at Ottuma, Iowa’s Country Club, with hors doeuvres 7-9 p.m., followed by Dueling Pianos and dancing 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Tickets are $75 per couple and $40 per person.

Started in 1961, the Pink Ball is an annual event. This year, the theme is An Affair to Remember, which is related to the Academy Awards and the Oscar presented to each winner. So there will be a lifetime achivement honour as well recognitions for the best-dressed male and female.

The Dueling Pianos are actually Tony Bohnenkamp and Jared Hall, who are based in Des Moines. The high-energy duo take their request-driven sing-along show throughout the Midwest. Their repertoire includes everything from Jerry Lee Lewis and Frank Sinatra to Billy Joel and Elton, with countless 80s hits along the way.

As always, committee members will draw the name of the Pink Lady, who will receive a beautiful ring from Bookins Jewelry.
