Billboard reports that Elton and Sam Bailey are among the artists who have been making waves when it comes to the Official UK Top 40 Albums.

Sam, the UK winner of the 2013 season of The X Factor, sold close to 73,000 units, leading to her debut atop the British album chart yesterday on March 30, with her first set The Power Of Love.

Bailey’s record, which includes duets with Nicole Scherzinger and Michael Bolton, follows her Christmas UK No. 1 with a cover of Demi Lovato’s Skyscraper.

George Michael’s Symphonica fell a notch, to #2. It includes a cover of Elton’s Idol.

Gary Barlow’s Since I Saw You Last (which includes a Face to Face duet with Elton), rebounded 32-10, fuelled by TV promotion and the release of its title track as a single.

And Elton himself made the grade. The 40th anniversary reissue of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Mercury/Universal) took the classic album back onto the chart at No. 12.
