German impresario Peter Schwenkow is attempting to negotiate a rescue package for Harvey Goldsmith, whose tour promoting company went into receivership Sept. 30, 1999.

Schwenkow’s Deutsche Entertainment group is in talks to refinance Harvey Goldsmith Entertainments.

Goldsmith had been a concert promoter for almost 30 years, including top acts like Elton, concerts of the Prince of Wales Trust, and the Pet Shop Boys.

But he lost £6.5 million backing Lawnmower Man II and in August took a £1 million hit when his Total Eclipse Festival failed to attract enough people to cover its costs. Schwenkow had been talking about buying a stake in Goldsmith before the collapse.
