News on Web Company Sales And ''Billy Elliot''

Monday 11 July 2005 @ 22:44 - GMT

On July 16, it will be ten years since Amazon.com's CEO Jeff Bezos started the company from a Seattle-area garage.

To celebrate, the Web site has inducted 25 musicians into a Hall of Fame. This is made up of their biggest sellers over the past decade.

The Beatles and U2 made the top spots, while Elton is #16. Amazon.com also has come up with a list of their top 25 best-selling authors, and a DVD posting is scheduled for July 13.

In other good news for Elton, he recently told gossip columnist Liz Smith that he expects Billy Elliot to come to New York's Broadway--probably by the spring of 2007.

Meanwhile, he and David Furnish have sent out invitations to a Billy Elliot-themed party in France's San Jean Cap Ferrat. In addition, the songster has chartered a special Billy Plane for his guests.
