Mick Wall's new book, W.A.R., The Unauthorized Biography of William Axl Rose, includes the stories ranging from the singer's difficult childhood to his work with Sir Elton.
In fact, there is a photograph of Elton with the Guns N' Roses frontman, when they duetted on Bohemian Rhapsody at the 1992 Freddie Mercury tribute. It was Brian May who came up with the idea for the two to perform the song together.
1992 was also the year that Elton teamed up with Guns N' Roses for November Rain at the MTV awards. Kurt Cobain, who disliked Axl, spat on Elton's piano, mistaking it for his rival's. There's a video of the MTV performance at

As for Wall's bio, it includes a photo of Axl at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies, singing with Bruce Springsteen, two years later, when Elton was inducted.
Besides being an admirer of the Rocket Man's, Rose is a fan of Bernie Taupin's.
He once thought of interviewing the lyricist and ran the idea past a few magazine editors.
Bernie reciprocated, saying he liked Axl's music, singling out the words to Sweet Child O' Mine, in particular.
Unfortunately for Rose, he had problems handling fame, and his group broke up.
