As usual, the White Tie and Tiara Ball attracted a galazy of stars.
These included Shirley Bassey, Claire Danes, Ron Wood, Boris Becker and Hugh Grant.
The menu at the EJAF fundraiser featured chicken and chips.
It was a trio of delicate mousses for the starter, then came the chicken and chips which was a bit of a fun surprise, said one partygoer.
For dessert, we all had strawberry mousse in a heart-shape with pink champagne jelly.
The latest White Tie gala was an extra special occasion because Elton and his partner had just finished the construction of a private art gallery in their Berkshire abode, concealed by a secret door.
Elton and David Furnish unveiled the space last night.
The Alice In Wonderland-themed gallery was designed by London architect Jack Schneider, the gallery has waterfalls cascading down one wall and copper cladding on another. To mark his achievement, Elton gave the party the theme of ''contemporary art.''
Below is a photo of Elton with Justin Timberlake, who performed, as well as a snapshot of him with another attendee, Lily Allen. More pictures and details appear in Tuesday's OK! magazine.
