Peter Blake has taken inspiration from his most-famous piece of work, the Beatles Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club album cover, to create a new piece especially for Northamptonshire's Vintage Festival.
Sir Peter has examined the icons for the renowned artwork from 1967 and selected people who have inspired his creative career over the past six decades to mark his 80th birthday celebrations being held at the fest, running July 13th-15th, at Boughton House.
The Vintage Festival will dedicate Sunday, July 15, to celebrating Blakes birthday. An exhibition of the artiste's work will be on display as well as a dedicated Sunday night headliner show with special musical performers invited by Peter himself.
Blake says: I've chosen people I admire, great people and some who are dear friends. I had a very long-list of people who I wanted to go in but couldnt fit everyone in - I think that shows how strong British culture and its legacy of the last six decades is.
As seen in the reproduction above, the figures include Elton, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Amy Winehouse, Audrey Hepburn, Damien Hirst, Danny Boyle, David Bailey, Elvis Costello, John Peel and Kate Moss.
